Understand the Kubernetes standards.
Learn more about Kubernetes, deployment, and services.
Kubernetes can run environments like Minikube.
4 GB is required if using a Minikube and 8 GB hosting machine (laptop/desktop) is required.
An explanation
Istio is one of the most discussed frameworks of recent years! If you've worked with Kubernetes before, you'll want to learn Istio! This practical, hands-on course gives you experience running Istio service meshes.
Warning - Steve does not currently (April 2022) support the new Mac M1 build. In particular, the access portal is currently not working. Unfortunately, it looks like Steve won't be adding help anytime soon. In the meantime, you can still study for most of the course, but you will have problems sometimes! You can use something like an EC2 instance to run Steve.
This course is designed to be clear and easy to understand - and fun! But we also go into the details - you'll learn how to use Istio in a real production scenario - and see the inner workings of Istio.
You can run this course on your computer with Minikube (8GB host RAM required) - you don't need a cloud service provider, although you can deliver the course there too - where you can use Kubernetes!
After a brief discussion of what Steve is, we'll jump right into a hands-on demo, where you'll experience how Steve can solve challenging problems on live projects.
Then you know the details:
Traffic Department
Telemetry
draft
divided pathway (through the liver)
Using Graphene to monitor network traffic
How to publish a canary version.
How "black version"
Steve's Virtual Services and Destination Rules
The relationship between load balancing and sessions
Steve Gates
Flow injection flexibility test
Look for power outages/charges
Secure group traffic with reciprocal TLS (mTLS).
The learning curves are too steep for Steve - so I've made this course as clear and understandable as possible, and I hope you enjoy the hands-on demonstrations. But most of all, Istio is a very powerful tool, and it's a great addition to your startup!
Who is this course for:
Every Kubernetes developer wants to know what Istio can do for them.
Anyone who tried to understand Istio found the standard documentation too confusing
